זֶה דּוֹר דֹּרְשָׁיו מְבַקְשֵׁי פָנֶיךָ יַעֲקֹב סֶלָה
This is the generation that seeks Him, that seeks Your Face – [this is] Jacob, forever
Rashi: One whose deeds are as such [clean of hands and pure of heart], he is the generation who seeks Him. This…does not refer to any specific period in history. It refers to anyone, even an individual, who meets the qualifications set forth.”
This blog is an essay in the formal sense, that is, an effort and an attempt at honoring the memories of those who came before me. Without their perseverant, insistent desire to seek G-d amidst their generations’ challenges, I would not have the opportunity to do the same. It is with great excitement and gratitude that I start this project, and with much hope that I too can dare greatly; that I too can seek His presence with curiosity and conviction. Though I have many ancestors to thank, I dedicate Zeh Dor Dorshav to two individuals who modeled the passing of Mesorah to me, not only through conversation and correspondence, but from heart to heart.
